I have a pair of G3 zed12 bindings that I’ve been using for maybe 3 winters and have had no issues at all. But recently one of the rear bindings broke to pieces from regular skiing on a non icy day. After much research I found out that my local dealer who I bought the bindings from and installed on my skis, had forgot a so called stomper pad. For break-less bindings this part is critical and is provided with the bindings, yet it was never installed from the get go and explains why my binding broke. I then looked at the warranty period for the bindings and realized it would not fall into the 2year timeframe. I then decided to buy at a reasonable price, the correct replacement part. I also bought the “Zed Stomp pad kit” to avoid another horrible experience on the mountain.
Upon receiving the replacement parts almost double the time it said it will take (very late), I came to realize that the stomp pad size I need is not included at all! This was very very disappointing and honestly frustrating. I then went to go scour (look) the entire website for another stomper pad option and I couldn’t find anything else, except the oversized pads that I bought. The only place I can find a reference to the correct size pad, is in the instructions of the Pad kit I bought. It only says “standard stomp pad (included with binding)”.
Overall I wish that somewhere on the description of this Pad kit, it would have stated that this pad is not included. Just to be transparent with the buyers. Especially since there’s no returns/refunds.
I’m really hoping G3 will do what is needed to make things right. Otherwise, I will definitely be considering moving away from G3 and stop recommending this brand.
