DURABLE FOLDING TREKKING POLE WITH SUPERIOR PACKABILITY AND STRENGTH

Optimized user experience comes from the finishing details in any design. PIVOT TREK poles wrap around the handle and lock into place when packed, making it super easy to fit into your backpack or cleanly attach them to the outside. This nesting feature gives a secure finish when packed which is ideal for backpacking.

The lightweight aluminum construction of the PIVOT TREK is engineered for strength and durability. The design of the poles improves on stiffness and power over other folding poles. Comfortable and removable ultralight strap.

The PIVOT TREK features an extended soft and comfortable foam grip with a dual-density plastic upper for precision in grip and handling. The extended foam and the yellow rings along the shaft make it super easy to select more than one hand position when traversing. The rings also speed up transitions by giving something to pull against when locking the pole into place.

The PIVOT TREK is perfect for summer trekking with an extended tab at the handle to help you get through rough terrain and smooth trails alike.

Pivot Trek Poles

I've used the Pivot Trek poles for several outings on my local routes (Bishop, Coliseum, Crown) which are steep and rooty. I am impressed with the strength and functionality of the poles. The grips are a familiar feel to my G3 Fixie and Via ski poles and the grip extension is great for choking up on sidehill traverses and high step ups. My issue with the poles is that I have been catching the tips under tree roots. I have determined the issue for me is that I am used to using trekking poles (different brand) with a basket to tip length of 1 3/8" and the G3 product has a dimension of 3 1/4" from basket to tip. I feel this projection is excessive and in the duffy/rooty ground I hike in results in the tip catching in the voids between and behind roots as I move forward.

One pole to rule them all

One pole to rule them all

I've used several other top brands options for z-fold poles in the past, and this pair is my favourite for it's lightweight and durability. Great for hiking treks with the baskets off, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform this winter for ski-touring!

light weights, folds compact together and very sturdy.

Great poles, durable and good quality

I use these for hiking and backcountry touring. They have survived a lot but they could be lighter. I still highly recommend these. They pack down really well because of the 2 pivot design.

Fantastic Trekking Poles

I have honestly never used trekking poles in previous years. After many reviews/stories/local store visits I bought these trekking poles online. I bought these for several reasons and having them be foldable is one of the reasons for sure. I am currently using them during my training - The trekking poles will come with me to Morocco - The MDS Legendary 40th Edition - April 2026. These weren't cheap BUT certainly worth the money for myself and it has to be seen as to how long they will last/durability wise. I bought the long version because I am just over 6 ft 2 inches...They certainly help on walks and feel light when carrying them. We are all different with different needs but for me these are the right trekking poles for now. Hope this review helps others in whatever way possible.

Look great!

My PIVOT TREK poles have just arrived and at first glance they look awesome. Simple to set up and take down and very compact for travel. Along with the powder baskets, this could be the perfect year-round solution for hiking, tracking and split boarding. Thanks, G3!

Love them fold up in my back pack with having to worry about snagging trees when split boarding

Most durable amazing poles ever!

I bought these poles on sale in July 2024. Since then, I’ve hiked an average of 200 km a month using these poles religiously on every hike. They have never let me down. They have never collapsed, never worn down on the ends, or have had any other technical issue. They are the best poles I’ve ever used and I can’t believe how well they’re standing up! They fold up so discreetly for storing. I don’t know what I’ll do if they do ever end up having to be replaced! don’t hesitate to buy them …JUST DO IT!

Decent poles, lighter than expected and nice and compact to fit in a pack. The folding mechanism and the small magnets keeping the poles folded is a nice touch. The rubber covers on top of the grips started peeling after 3 days, so not great. Tried gluing them back on but it wouldn’t stick to the plastic. I’ll try epoxy next, hopefully that works

Pivot Trek Poles

Although I gave it 4 stars, they are not adjustable in the right place for my needs. I need the place between the two gold rings to adjust down - not just the upper adjustment. That can’t be done with these, as it needs to be fully extended or the elastic loops and lower pieces of the poles hang loose. Would love to know if I could exchange one of them for a model that would adjust or just be shorter ?? They are much too long even in the lowest adjustment. Thanks for any suggestions of a solution.

Pivot Trekking Poles

Awesome poles, used it during approach into climbing. Easily stow away in the backpack! Light as well compared to the other brands.

So far they seem great!

These poles were an impulse purchase for me. I was looking for a foldable pole and that had better grips than my current poles. These fit the bill perfectly! I love to top part/handle for going downhill and that the foam grip is extended down further on the pole so I can have something to grab thats lower when going uphill. The way they fold down so small makes it amazing for tucking into my side pouch on me pack. I hope the internal cable system holds up, my current poles are solely slide and clip. The one thing I found was they were a bit springy and slightly heavier compared to my carbon poles, but that was to be expected as they are totally different construction. None of it deters me from us using these and now are my go to pole ! I have my finger crossed they stand up to wear and tear as I usually track about 125+ kms a month with my current poles!

Pack up nicely.

I brought the new Pivot Trek poles on a recent hike/ scramble where I needed to put them away frequently on the climb. It was nice to use the side pouch on my day pack without taking it off. Might not be as easy with some packs but it worked for me!

Very impressed

Have used these on a couple day trips this far. High strength, lightweight, easy to set up/ collapse. The king size is perfect to set up a quick tarp shelter but still short enough for me to use normally at 5’9”. The magnetic attachment to hold the poles together is a great addition.

Broken straps

Broken straps (both) after using the poles twice. I bought the pole from the online store and got no help from customer service.

Nice

So far really nice to have one set of poles that I can use for both the summer and winter. I'm not made of money and my apartment gear closet is small.

Reasonable walking poles with a few issues

I recently bought a pair. Good solid poles albeit quite heavy. I have broken 3 pairs of carbon poles over the last year on talus slopes so I decided to go with hopefully stronger but heavier poles. They vibrate quite a lot when I walk on rocks which I don't recall other poles doing. More serious is the strap. It's thin and extremely long at least for my admittedly smaller hands. So even at the shortest length my hand is 1/2 way down the handle, and if I lose my grip then it's quite hard to pull the pole back up. For me this has turned out to be a major issue as I rely on the grips maybe more than others would. I would like to suggest to G3 that at the least the velcro should be moved so that the strap can be significantly shorter. I would also like the loop to be wider (like some other pole manufacturers) for more comfort around the back of my hand.

Finally I'll note that for hiking I use 105-110 cm, but for winter backcountry skiing I like 135 cm in the climb. So the 105-125 cm range is great for summer hiking but insufficient for me in the winter.

Strong pole, awesome feature set

Not the lightest folding pole but very reliable. I've cracked enough poles on multi-day trips to appreciate these not breaking yet. For me one of the coolest features is the plastic space at the top of the pole. This makes it really easy to use them with a tarp around the campsite.

Seems like a great year round pole

Full disclosure: I bought this (and the snow baskets) since I wanted a pair of Pivot Poles before the end of season. When it arrived I immediately swapped the magnetic trekking baskets with the snow ones I also purchased. It's an awesome splitboard touring pole now. I will say the magnetic trekking baskets are pretty cool how they attach to the pole and I will use them with hard spring snow or this summer on the trails. Overall very happy with purchase. Kind of wish G3 would make this as a package (both baskets together) as I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this.

C
Customer

Are these the same as the regular Pivots, just w a trekking basket? Handle utility is the same for winter ski use?

G3 S.[.

Hi Jason, yes the PIVOT and PIVOT TREK are exactly the same (including the handle), except for the basket that's included. Thanks for your question!
