Works great!

Installation was super easy, shipping was fast. Just took them out touring this past weekend and they performed well.

Much improved

The newer brakes are significantly more solid than earlier zed brakes I’ve had.
I tried going brakeless for a season but it isn’t worth it. New brakes are great. No regrets

Seems like they fixed em

Never used the original brakes because of the known issues with them packing with snow and ice, breaking, etc, and have had great luck with the zed as a leash binding. When I saw they re designed the brakes I decided to give them a try, and have put some decent mileage as well as multiple transition days on them, with no issues at all. Super intuitive, just turn the heel turret and your first step down locks them in place.

Definitely light..,

I like the G3 bindings a lot. The brakes are light but the durability is to be seen. My second set of brakes in 3 years, mostly due to the small plastic shim you step into place. The rest held up fine.

These were replacements for previous ones, both of which broke. Also couldn’t get the right size for several months. Ticked the option on the website to be notified when available but never happened. All round disappointing.

Works fine. Video instruct are fubar

Instrustion os to turn the heel piece 90 degrees. This is wrong. If you tuyrnthe heelk piece 90- degrees it does not work. You have to turn the heel piece so the prortuding tang in front is parallel with the ski,. This is MORE than 90 degree. Just sayin'.

So far so good

Worked well the first few times! Got to be motivated to take them off for a lighter setting, it’s not a simple click and pull.

So far so good

The original version of these were an abysmal failure. These redesigned brakes seem better but really wish I didn’t have to fork out another $100 after only 3 days of skiing on the first ones.

Zed Brakes

Flawless operation over years of use! When going into touring mode, you sometimes need to stomp on them a couple times to clear the ice/snow to get them to retract but they will go and stay out of the way as needed.

Gotta have brakes

It's great to be able to put these on your 'light' setup, for the occasional times when you want to ride lifts to someplace, or are skiing in runaway conditions, or want your sticks to stay put while you get that big pack sorted, or...

Excited to ski my G3 bindings

Finally have a lightweight set up that I have been saving for. G3 binding order could not have been easier on the website. Bindings arrived quickly this summer, but now I await snow to grace the Tetons. After mounting at Wilson Backcountry sports, I of course had to make sure all was working properly and sure enough, stepping into my G3 bindings on the basement carpet proved that this was a great choice in bindings. I'll report more once we get enough snow on Teton Pass to really put them thru their paces. Thanks G3

Difficult to install and failed twice on first tour

The brake installed easily onto the turret mounting. The plastic spring cover would not go in under the brake foot plate. It had to be deformed and shoved forcefully many times until it fit underneath. The plastic spring cover clicked into the metal forks on the brake but it was easy to knock back off. The whole brake assembly is loose and rattles around.

On the first tour, the plastic spring cover came out twice on transitions. Luckily there was not powder snow for it to get lost in! The brake also would not lock up twice. I had to manually pull the legs up over the ski to get the walk mode to engage.

My Ion bindings are rigid and never fail. I am very dissappointed with the zed bindings and would not have purchased them if I had known that the brake assembly was of such poo quality.

Zed binding

I switched from the Ion binding after years of usage guiding and skiing for myself to the Zed. Have been using them for around 3 winters now. Flawless performance, light weight but not too light and flimsy. Nice and low to the ski which is very important to me for stability and control with wider skis.
Love the Zed, have 5 prs mounted up.
