YouÕve got to hand it to skiers who wander so far to get their next fix of skiing and cultural that they end up on the other side of the globe, literally. Despite an amazing winter at home, G3 athlete Chad Sayers and local North Vancouver photographer Jordan Manley did just that Ð flying around the earth to Kashmir, India for a chance to up the ante on their previous skiing adventures together. Quite possibly the furthest ski resort from Vancouver, Gulmarg is more than just the other side of the world, itÕs another world entirely. A second-hand gondola from France tops out as the worldÕs highest ski gondola at 3950m (12,959Õ). Snow monkeys swing from tree to tree, while skiers try similar tactics to cut the line-up of skiers waiting impatiently for a gondola that may not even open that day, nor the next. But when the gondola wheels finally start spinning, the rewards all well worth it, even when historically poor avalanche conditions limit you to a fraction of the terrain in front of you. Chad, Jordan, and fellow skier Tobin Seagel discovered all that and more, and thanks to JordanÕs incredible ability to tell stories through imagery, you can get a taste of it yourself, without digging a tunnel to the other side of the earth.
